We would like to give a big thank you to Check Point Software of Basingstoke who have raised over £4,000 for Youth Options through a sponsored climb up Snowdon on July 8th 2009.
Running the New York Marathon
Michael Scallan, 46 year old commercial director at In-tech Telecom set out with friends Sam Graham and Dave Evens, to raise enough money to replace one of the fleet of minibuses for Youth Options which had come to the end of its viable use and they had no budget to replace. Michael, a keen supporter of the work that Youth Options do in Hampshire to help young people is hoping to run the New York Marathon with his friends to raise the necessary funds for the minibus in 4hrs. The objective of running the marathon was made all the harder by the fact he was completely out of shape at the beginning of his training, not only is he trying to raise the funds and do the training, he is hoping to lose over four stone in the process.
We would like to thank the Southampton Rotary Club for their very generous donation of £1600, which enabled us to take the Impact transition group on a weeks residential to Appledore Activity Centre, Devon.
As you can see by the group photo both young people and staff enjoyed the adventure and it proved to be very rewarding for all of them.
